We have been so lucky to dodge storms and stay mostly out of freezing temperatures, but when you are going to face a storm, why not make it the biggest storm the area has seen in over 30 years?
Our day trip to Houston proved what we have known to be true for the past 6 months. Our prayers to follow Will’s job to Houston went unanswered for a reason. And we are so very thankful for that.
For our day trip to Dallas, I planned a walking tour around downtown. There were a few places we definitely wanted to see, but the majority of my planning came from poking around Google Maps and TripAdvisor to find different attractions.
This week marks our 6-month anniversary of being on the road. This is where you probably expect me to say that “it feels like we just started,” but in reality, it feels like we have been doing this for so much longer—in the best (and sometimes worst) ways.
Life was catching up to us in ways we had not had time to recognize as we pulled into this Texas campground, so having this break in the action was a very welcome reprieve.
We had a packed day trip to Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma and Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas.
We were really not sure what to expect during our visit to Hot Springs, or really Arkansas in general, but we were blown away with the unexpected scenery and unique setting of the national park and the surrounding area.
We spent the day wandering around New Orleans, until my anxiety got the best of me…and the mom guilt.
